Just seen it as well. Judging by the interview he gave to John Humphrys this morning, I am not at all surprised about this. What a silly man.

He certainly is, mikey. I bet Dave isn't very happy.
He has cut the Parties nose off to spite his face Tony. I have just looked up the Wiki entry for Dudley North :::

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dudley_North_%28UK_Parliament_constituency%29#Elections_in_the_2010s

With a Labour majority of just 649, the Tories had a real chance of winning this seat, even though its been Labour for many years. But now they have zero chance I would have thought. To repeat, what a silly, arrogant little man.
Question Author
I agree, mikey, I don't think they have much chance now. Thats why I think Dave can't be very happy about this.
He is a brave and intelligent man so I can't understand why this has happened.
Actually hc, I am slightly sympathetic to him. He is, as you say, an intelligent chap. Being ex-Army and an Asian would have made him a very rare member of the House of Commons, and God knows, we need some diversity in that place !

But pride comes before a fall it would seem.

Yes, from Smethwick to Sandhurst. Probably back to Smethwick now.
