a3 door, is it the same

i have a 2004 3door a3 and have found the exterior trim i require (door blade at bottom of the door), the replacement part i have found is on a 2009 model, door looks the same but does anyone know where i can find out for sure if the trim will go straight onto mine?

any help would be great

Unless you're very lucky .. you would only tell with dealer part numbers.
You could check VW/Audi forums tho.

i have no part number for the one i took off as it came off in the snow, audi wont give me a part number and no one knows the part number on the vwaudi forum, they just say take it off and look for the p/n!!!
my understanding is that the difference was a facelifted front end and rear lights, i will prob ask the chap to measure the dimensions of his trim and compare it to my trim measurements on the passenger side.

The part no of trim the other side is probably near identical. Ford, for instance usually use odd/even no. at end to specify N/S or O/S.
What about a VAG parts disc?
