How easy is it to stop paying monthly car tax and go back to six monthly can it be done on line

Yes, when you go to renew it does offer you a choice of periods

Can it become before the renewal date is due

I'm sure it can't be done until renewal is due.

Why not just declare the car off road and then just re-tax for 6 months?
