Can anyone tell me whether replacing a headlamp unit in a Micra 2004 is a DIY or a job for a garage please?

Never done one but if you suss the job out, take a mobile pic, study the position, get the right tools / sockets, Remove the Connecting wires first, job should be easy.
DIY job surely!

Thank you both very much for the encouragement! I tried looking at a u-tube video but it was for changing the bulb and not the whole unit. Here's hoping!
not sure about a Micra but its not uncommon to have to remove grille or bumper, just be prepared.
I agree with Chas, it can be quite a task.

I did it on an Astra and had to partly remove the bumper - that was the difficult bit.

Luckily Google helped me find how to do that, as they hide the fixings and design them to be awkward.
if you get to the point where you have a large hole where the engine should be then I would suggest that this is a difficult job,All the best hope all goes well.

does this help?
Boxy, it's the whole unit, not just the bulb.
Of course, I see that now. I never had to do it in my old Micra, so I can't offer help then :-(
