Buying A New Car.

I am considering buying a new car and I have found there are companies that negotiate with main dealers and obtain a considerable discount, which they pass on to the buyer - minus a commission, of course.

Has anyone bought a car this way ?

Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of ?

Cheers.

do you have a "part exchange" if not, you don't need anyone to help you get a good deal, just d.i.y. get in there and haggle
Are you raving mad?

Buy one a year old and get twice the car for half the money!
I used "brokers4cars" several years ago when I bought my last car. Hassle-free and got me a price well below any of the dealers I contacted. Delivery is via a main dealer and can either be collected from them or delivered straight to you.

Thanks, BHG. That's what I had heard elsewhere.

TTT, the car I'm interested in wasn't around a year ago, but I take your point.

Nissan Qashqai 1.2 Turbo Petrol.

I only do about 5k miles a year with one motorway run a month so I'm avoiding the diesel engine models.
First produced in 2007, I refer you to my answer above.
The Qashqai 1.2 turbo petrol has only been about for a few weeks in the new model Qashqai.
Tora, After years of buying nearly new cars I bought a brand new Corsa. It has served me well. I will never again buy second hand from either a dealer or private. I had to get well in to my 50's before I could afford new.
ok done some research, 10k should get you the best one in the world probably 1-2 years old.
please don't buy a new one. Jeza you may have been unlucky, for my part I drive a 90k car for which I paid 8k.
Unlucky Tora. I bought an 8 month old Rover just before they went bust and had so many problems with it that I had to get rid. Guarantee was invalid. I had a Ford that when it rained or went through a puddle it would stall and then wouldn't start. I could go on. My new Corsa bought in 08 has never let me down. (Hope I'm not speaking too soon).

You are correct ,Tonyav
It's a good engine, derekpara, its got more power than the 1.6 petrol in the old shape Qashqai and with lower immisions and better mpg.
yes tony is correct but you don' want that one! Complete runt, get th etop of he range one for half price.

Jeza, rover? really? PMSL!
I think derekpara knows what he wants.
Tora, It was beautiful to look at but was a real pig. It cost me a fortune to try and get it put right. I gave up in the end. It was still a beautiful car though.
TTT,You're ARROGANCE and SMUGNESS is showing again, please give it a rest.
Should have typed emissions .
@unsureme, sorry that you find the correct answer arrogant and smug. Read all my posts before making a judgement. In motoring especially I do try to help. Jeza, unlucky mate any car can be a lemon, no doubt there are perfectly functioning examples of the car in question. I still maintain it is crazy to buy a new car, you may as well burn a wad of notes.
