Renault Clio 57 reg 1.2 will not go up hills properly, also struggling on flat roads, foot on floor no acceleration, cannot hear clutch slipping, is there some other fault that could cause this type of problem?

I have owned a Renault in the dim and distant past, I share your pain.
;o)
I had a similar problem with a Volvo several years ago. It turned out to be the air-mass meter - a cheap job on my car. The air-mass meter measures the amount of air being sucked into the engine and tells the computer that dishes out the fuel; if the meter is behaving badly the computer believes you don't need much power and delivers too little fuel.
My Renault Clio did this, the spark plugs needed replacing, literally had no power!
sure the French engine hasn't gone out on strike???

Could well be the air intake, though I once had the problem the other way with a Saab Aero and that was a bit of a nightmare when your rev counter is bouncing like crazy.
could be fuel pump issues too if that is on the way out....

Thanks for your answers, maybe a good service with plugs and that filter thing would be worth looking into.
Could possibly be a duff lambda sensor or TDC sensor ( common fault on Renaults ).

Update: Catalytic Converter failed causing failure of Lambda Sensor also burnt out coil and spark plugs, now fine £400 garage bill though!
Thanks for getting back to us djtjt, not everybody is so considerate.
