Left house at 7.30 cos usually there is hell of a queue, and it was freezing 7º, swirls of mist everywhere, slightly warmer now.

Can someone solve an arguemewnt, if an english person stays in an English hotel in England do they have to show proof of identity ie passport, like they do over here, I say no, he says yes.

Last time we did it 4 years ago, we didn't have to show ID but they took a swipe of the credit card.

I've been into town to the market . Had to sit down a while though so had some chips and cockles and people watched in the lovely sunshine while I scarfed them down .Lovely ..yum .

Neti, I have never been asked for passports or identity when staying in an English hotel (last time was last July), but as Woofy says, a lot do swipe credit cards when you check in. They certainly do in last towns and cities. We had to when staying in Guildford.

Had a lovely Thai meal at friend's restaurant, duck in marmalade sauce with noodles and veg!! Yummy. We are going there on Saturday to celebrate the engagement and again a fortnight later for Chinese New Year when every night for five nights is one big party and loads of decorations go up - good fun. I am stuffed full of food and now want to go to sleep.

I have now been and got some passport size photos for new passport and Blue Badge. Can't smile for passport photos, so I scowled and I look even worse than my avatar and very, very, very old. The camera never lies :o(

Wasn't the weather glorious this morning Shaney. It's gone colder now and grey - but it is January after all!!

My photo driving licence makes me look like the nastier kind of violent female criminal (no I am not going to post a pic)...then again I was having a bad day when i got the photo done so not that far from the truth really.
Thanks to the wonders of the deep freeze I have got cockles, mussels and chips for tea. I wasn't going to drink tonight but i am viewing the wine as medicinal...gonna skip the detail but by last night I felt like the NKOVFC again.

OH and I take each other's photos for driving licences etc, then improve them on photoshop. A lot cheaper that way and at least the really horrid ones never see the light of day.

Actually I look like some miserable old dowager duchess in these new photos, swathed in a scarf and my new fur jacket. with a scowl on my face. Will they let me into Russia? - probably!!

Evening each. I'm awful on my Driving Licence photo as I couldn't smile and I have such a miserable look on my face and my hair is crip! It never comes out of my purse ever ever ever!!Here's hoping I nevefr have to produce it for a driving offence. touch wood I never have up to now.
I've had a lovely meal today with my friend in fact she paid so I'm paying next time and she said "well don't leave it 2 years next time" which we cracked up at cos I didn't realise it had been that long.
Tonight I'm watching footie again. Liverpool are playing and they are my second team and it's on BBC 1 so if you were hoping for something else I'm sorry.

I hope you have all had a decent day and that you get a good night's sleep. I'm off to make a Baileys coffee then settle down.

My Licence did come out of my purse once and that was when I offered it as my bus pass. What an embarrassment - still it gave the driver a laugh..

I knew I should have got some more photos, damn it. You reminded me Jude - I need them for a bass pass too, just in case I ever get on a bus - highly unlikely unless I move!!
