Does anyone else agree that he's been so much better than Steve Wright?

No, but I do think Steve Wright is well past his sell by date.
NOOOOOOOOO!

I'm not a massive fan of Steve Wright but Kielty's voice and inane drivel drive me around the bend. I cannot listen to him without wanting to throw something at the radio
Can't stand any of the daytime R2 DJ's,although Simon Mayo is just about bearable. R2 only comes alive after 7-00pm, when you get the specialist music hours, followed by Mark Radcliffe & Stuart Maconie.
No, I have never liked him, on TV or radio.
Lol carrust; me and my mum have always said Radio 2 goes weird after 7 (as does Radio 1 actually) but I suppose it's the time when you have to look at the listings to find something of interest instead of listening to stuff created for the masses. And I love Steve Wright by the way although rarely listen to him anymore.
The major problem as I see it on most of the music radio stations is the dreaded play list. I don't want to listen to the same song played 6 times over, & I don't want to listen to something I was listening to 20yrs ago!!!!!!!!.....Rant over lol
Yes that definitely happens a lot on Radio 1; I can even predict where I will be on the way to uni when Chris Moyles plays certain songs (although I love his show!) To be fair, I usually listen to the radio when I can't be bothered to choose what music I want to listen to; if I want something specific I'll put a CD on.
I stopped listening to Steve Wright five years ago, I just got sick of his shallow, banal, patronising drivel that I presume was inspired by the american radio style. Pity he didn't go over there and stay.
That said I have realised over recent years that my listening habits are changing in similar fashion to my mother who for many years listened to the "light" programme but then as she got older listened less and less.
The BBC like most commercial stations seems to be attuning its programmes to younger tastes so it seems likely I shall stop listening when radio goes digital. I'm rather sad about this but that's life it would seem.
Someone gave me a brilliant laugh today - they actually used the words 'Patrick', 'Kielty', and 'comedian' in the same sentence!
Can't stand PK. I have however been informed by someone who spent the evening in a bar with him that he is actually a really nice guy. Just a shame that doesn't come accross on the TV/Radio.

I wish Radio 2 would just give Ken Bruce the airwaves all day.

Don't get me started on Chris Evans (who is hardly ever there anyway) and his current stand it, Richard Madeley. What a k**b!
I agree milly143 - Ken Bruce is brill. I don't mind Chris Evans but I think he may be getting a bit too full of himself which is a shame. Can't stand Richard Madeley.
Hate the bloke - wanna knock that stupid smarmy grin right off his face!
Anyone's better than Steve Wright!
Yes what Mrs O said :-)
