What a terrific series the BBC has come up with and what beautiful scenery. I`ve been taking some wonderful photo`s from the HD screen with my digital camera , as I record the film and pause it when I want and transfer and they print off excellently for my album.

Shylock, I am with you all the way on that one. Now I have got used to Bernard Hill's laidback style of commentary I am really enjoying it. The highlight so far is nothing to do with nature though. That Ice Festival!!!!!! Wow and wow again I say. This series is worth every penny of the licence fee as far as I am concerned. Roll on Wild Russia????

Hi bimbo.etc, Yes the Ice Festival is something I`d love to see in reality, but, sadly too old now to travel that far. I now look forward to going to Bridgewater in Somerset in November to see the Floats all lit up with hundreds of lights and statue themes traveling through the streets and visiting different towns each week. Really fantastic, and well worth a visit.
Hi Shylock, I've not seen the programme my question was about you taking the photographs, how do they turn out?
Are they fuzzy, blurry etc or are they clear, precise and colourful?
I don't have HD and interested as to how a pics look.

Hi maggieemcgill, In answer to your reply, I am very happy with the pics only sum times you may want to touch `em` up a little with the PC but overall they are very good. I`ve given them to my friends whom want copy`s when they see them. As long as your don`t sell them you don`t break the copyright----I think!!!! You must have LCD or HD.
The reason I ask is because as a child (many moons ago) I had an adolescent infatuation with a film star and collected any picture I could. I eventually resorted to taking pictures from films off my telly using a normal camera, with a roll of film as this was before digital. Needless to say they were abysmal and a total waste of the development cost :D

Its great to know that it's possible to take photographs which are clear and legible from T.V.

Do you post any of your pictures on flicker or any of the other photograph sites, I would love to see them!

No Maggie, that would be tantamount to breaking copyright. Try and find a friend who has a digital camera and LCD or HD TV and computer to do it for you. With a little practice some really good photo`s can be obtained. I crop and tint mine with Picasa2 and they are just as good as if I took them real life. FAB
Thanks for the reply...I don't take photo's off the T.V. now, that was over 15 years ago as a starry eyed youngster.
Plus as I said they were that rubbish you could'nt make them out anyhow :-)
