Does anybody know why you can't yet buy Star Wars IV, Empire and Return of the Jedi on DVD?

The usual line from LucasFilm is that they are concentrating on completing the saga before worrying about DVD packages for the original trilogy. The long-held fan belief is that Lucas probably wants to further tinker with the movies before releasing them on DVD, and has not got time to do so until after the DVD release of Part III.
They have never been officaly released on dvd.Lucas said last year in the Empire magazine that they were planning a Indiana Jones dvd set which is true it comes out next month and after episode 3 is finished then he would have plans to bring out the remaing Star Wars movies out on dvd.I have actually seen people on ebay selling the star wars movies on dvd however sometimes these are transfered from vhs to dvd disc. However i did see one last week where the seller was selling the 3 movies each on disc( region 0) with the trailer of the movie on each disc and it had its own cover for each film.
