Can you actually get a licence to kill? James Bond has one and Gladys Knight.

I've just thought executors must have them.
I think Atticus Finch had one in Licence to Kill a Mockingbird.
There's loads of them going on Ebay if you can be bothered with the bidding process. Alternatively, I believe they handed them out willy nilly to over 21's during the 2nd World War. Just pop over to see your Grandad this weekend and ask if you can have his.
no u cant have a license to kill. only james bond has one. and sum people in the army but you canot buy licenses to kill.

No a licence to kill does not exist.

soldiers are exempt from Murder as part of the definition states (murder is committed) "Under the Queen's Peace".

Further, although Euro Convention of Human Rights has abolished the Death Penalty, under War the Govt have the right to lift any sanctions. Therefore the Right to Life (Article One) may not be as straightforward as it appears.

Further, the Police etc have the same powers as civvies when they take lives it's just they have a license to have weapons etc.

Only a few defences to Murder under common law and they are,

Provocation i.e crimes of passion

Diminished responsibility i.e madness

Suicide Pact i.e you kill people (and yourself) in agreement that they all want to die.

That's it. Self defence etc are not excuses/defences as it wouldn't be a murder in the first place.

Then what about executors ward-minter?

what about them??? There is a complete abolishion of the death penalty in UK now, I can not say for other international laws who have not signed the convention.

Wouldn't that be executionists? When I was executor of a will I certainly wasn't required to kill anybody......
That's executionERS of course - where is my head today....?
If I was to tell you, I'd have to kill you.
maybe a licence to spill...but then my wife would have no reason to yell at me

4getmenot has put this image in my head now:-

Pete Grimethorpe - ordinarily, a simple Solicitor's clerk and Commissioner for Oaths - but secretly, he has a License to Execute Wills......
