ILM, that’s when he dressed in feathers for a dance to the music of Swan Lake , it was cringeworthy
My sentiments exactly Bobbi, I miss Jason Gardiner who told it like it is!
Yes it was, how ironic he was voted off that night!
//I'd hazard a guess that whilst the show is popular with gays, they are nevertheless in the minority - so knowing your audience? Doubtful.//

Well, the show's based on a public vote, so if they don't like the same sex couples, the Beeb will soon find out.
Didn't tend to watch it anyway, so weird PC nonsense desperate to spoil the show is unlikely to reduce my viewing.
I'll no longer be watching strictly when this nonsense starts.
May I ask why LadyCG? Genuinely curious. Is it just taking a stand against PC culture?
I am not keen on it either..
I have no objections to same-sex couples on these shows but then again, I haven't watched them in over 10 years (apart from the odd glimpse during channel switching).
I just wonder what the professional dancers think about this?
Now I know the world has gone ruddy mad, kids must be totally confused by adults .
i don't think kids get confused at all. They are very accepting. More so than adults
> I just wonder what the professional dancers think about this?

There's been same sex professional dancing for years. It was Strictly that was holding out ...
ff, when you get your tailor to make you a pair of trousers, he will ask whether you dress to the left or the right.
If it happens, I will be interested to see how they manage the judging. Same sex ballroom dancing has its own rules. Both partners must lift and be lifted in routines with lifts in and the lead must change during the dance. Not at all difficult when both dancers are professionals but much more of a challenge in a pro celeb contest, especially lifts. If the dancers are judged as though they are boy/girl pairings, this would make the contest equal but would mean that the same sex team would have to decide who would do what and stick with it thoughout the contest which would be much less of a "sensation"
jno @ 11.31. How is that relevant?
11.18 Accepting and understanding, are very different.
you'd have to ask tamborine, dannyk. I just thought you'd asked a question that invited an answer.
Bobbi, originally the Argentine tango was a dance for two men...in public anyway...and not necessarily gay men, it was kind of a "fight" dance. These men are twins.
Ta for that, woof. Every day's a school day. Knowing that the dance was originally intended as a 'fight' dance sort of explains it's choreography.
