Looked great (where were those locations?), well-directed, but what a pathetic, woeful script. I think all the praise for Peaky Blinders has gone to Steven Knight's head, and he thinks he can improve Dickens. He can't. And Guy Pierce hopelessly miscast.

Nothing like a muppet Christmas carol.
Disappointed from hampshire
No reason at all to pretend to give an honest opinion, it was well flagged in advance to be a darker adaptation of the original.

In all honesty had it been yet another faithful carbon copy I most likely would not have tuned in.
Would give it 5 out of 10. Was expecting more.
Maybe the next two parts will give you that, we'll have to see.
Brilliant!
I thought Dickens version better

I should have known this one would be modern
as soon as I saw the kid watering his grave
Another deliciously dark episode tonight. Definitely something to look forward to next 2 nights. Then again, I could just be pretending to like it:-///
// Nothing like a muppet Christmas carol.//

perfected by Michael Caine who isnt he didnt wish to cutesey and sweet.
If you are pretending then so am I Ken, to what end I know not.

Tonight's was excellent.

o god what other lavatorial escapades did the cast get up to
tonight ?

I await with anticipation an episode of My Little Pony rescuing the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus in Egypt
on the run from Herod and his evil hordes

and the three Gifts from the Magi are no gifts at all but exploding and radioactive knick knacks - and one three magus is found with three bullet holes in him and Herod army taunts the other one Balthazar with monkey signs

(yeah I might watch that)

Second episode very much better, but I still don't like the script (and the swearing), changes to the narrative - making Scrooge and Marley asset-stripping factory owners - and Guy Pierce way too young. And just what is that accent being attempted by Andy Serkis as the Ghost of Christmas Past?

Some bravura directing, though - I reckon Nick Murphy's agent will be inundated with offers come the new year.
i am not easily shocked but found the swearing totally unnecessary. I quite like it, but only watched one episode so far,.

You would think the swearing would severely restrict the other countries it could be sold to.
Mistakenly thought it was on for 4 nights. Ends tonight.
Since reading this thread, I've deleted it.
Second episode getting better. 7 out of 10
Humbug!
Enjoyed it.
Watched the final episode tonight. Interesting take on the story, but will watch the muppets in the future.
I thought the final episode was outstanding, very moving and a couple of lovely plot twists - all in all an excellent watch.
