Great show, riveting...
My wife and I are hooked on it too. We've visited the filming location twice as well.

Yes shoota - and sewing and glueing and painting and sawing etc (sorry just couldn't resist).
I like the show but get a bit annoyed with Jay Blades. I know he's just the presenter but he pretends to get involved with the restorations and really does next to nothing.
Thanks for the heads up, love it.

Agree dave. He just sweeps the floor then shakes hands with everyone as if he had some input in the actual repair.
We love this show. Jay is obviously there to make up the "numbers" he has his own talents that do not necessarily fit this show. As yet it has not been infected by the pc brigade. Looking forward to the new series.
Cheers for that, BD :-)

My favourites are the brother and sister couple - the clock man and the leather lady. When she talked about losing her husband and choked up a bit he was over like a shot to give her a cuddle. Very touching.
I like watching her work, I do a bit of leatherwork myself and have learned from her.
Its a brilliant program....Caveat....do not bother with the book which I treated myself to expecting to learn stuff or at least see some detailed photos. Its complete rubbish and overpriced
Another show to feature Jay is Money for Nothing. In this one he does take on a project and he has some great ideas and is very talented.
If Jay Blades is talented, maggie, he has never given any sign of it on The Repair Shop. He wanders around glad-handing the visitors, acts like he is the proprietor, contributes nothing to the projects, and then has the nerve to stand there next to whoever has done the fantastic restoration and accept the thanks of whoever has come to collect their cherished item. Total waste of space.
He did work in series 1, but then seemed to withdraw from the actual work.
I agree totally with Brainiac, he has no talent on either this show or Money for Nothing. IMO of course.
Agree with Darcey and Brain about Jay Blades but the others are brilliant in their own fields. Looking forward to the next series.
I live the show and I've met Jay a few times. The community work he does with young people is phenomenal and he is a very talented designer, upcycling furniture
I love it too, but I think Jay is there to ask questions on the audience behalf. He does prompt the experts in their explanations.
I've got a job for them. I'll get in touch now it's coming back.

This series will have been filmed already I think Boaty but get your request in for the next series quickly. Its a very popular show and I'm sure they get loads of suggestions. The more unusual the more chance of getting on I would presume.
