A sum of money on my drive this afternoon.
It’s a private drive quiet long ending in T junction.
Do I report it too the police or hold onto it wait and see if anyone comes back and asks for it?

I'd stick a notice up saying "Money Found" and hold on to it. Any claimants should have an idea how much it is.
It's mine!
Depends how much it is.

£100 jackdaw
Police
The police here wouldn't take that anyway. I`d hold onto it and see what happens

Rang coppers who said as it was found on private property I can keep it? Mmmm not sure
How far up your drive? Are you the only house up the drive? Have you had visitors or would it just be the postman? If neighbours share the drive ask them if they have had visitors this afternoon and if it's possible they have lost some money. Police will not be interested they no longer deal with lost property. When I lost a valuable ring I was advised by the Police to go on here to add it as a lost item

Rockrose so the police advised because its on private property you can keep it? What if burglars dropped some of their swag in your garden when getting away from a nearby house? You can keep the stolen property?
Have you asked your wife/husband/partner if she/he is missing one hundred quid ?

Only my house on the drive, no visitors no post delivered today no reason for anyone to come down the drive. I can only pass on what the police said to me.

Bazile I asked if he was missing a sum of money he said no
Not much you can do but hold onto it and keep it if you don't hear anything in a decent amount of time. If you feel guilty about keeping it, stick it in a charity pot somewhere.
The "on private property" laws are a mess. A crashed car ended up in my garden last year but the police said they couldn't move it as it was on private property. But if I sunbathe naked on my (private property) front lawn they would soon get me put on the Sex Offenders Register.

Bizarre.
agree with SJ, hold on to it for say ten days to two weeks and then make a donation to your fav charity.
can you bathe naked in the crashed car, canary?
LMAO
Perhaps a little magic fairy left it just for you, Rockrose. Was it in an envelope with a big kiss drawn on the front?
Maybe the postcode lottery came to knock and you were out :-)
Was this loose notes or in an envelope or something? Anyway I'd just do as police say, hold on for a few days and see what happens, then it's yours.
