So How Has Your Year Been Since Last Xmas?

Bit of a strange one for me personally.
Inevitably involved a few ups and downs. Discovered that a few members of my family weren't all that they seemed (became estranged from one of my sisters and my nieces and nephews), spent time in a psych ward and time in the law courts. Got ripped of by a couple of people.
On the other hand, Ive received the kindness of strangers (a couple of them from here on AB, you know who you are ;-)) Realised that others are struggling with their own issues (again here on AB) and generally just glad to still be alive.

The usual ups and downs nailit - but here we are on the eve of Christmas 2017. Glad to hear you've been on the receiving end of kindness on this site - in spite of everything I think AB is home to a pretty great bunch of people. Merry Christmas when it comes x

In perspective of other years its been better but when it comes to family its sometimes turbulent but never have I turned away.
I agree with AB being great, my escapism if you like... music thread and fantasy football being my main port of call... but do read a lot of stuff and reminded how lucky I am.

My year started off with a major op as will next year most likely!
It continued to be a year of highs that is seeing me 13 stone lighter.
There have been a few lows - someone writing to my employer trying to get me into trouble and ending up on the wrong side of a special group on here!
But on the whole my year has been fantastic.

A largely good and steady year, no real lows and a few lovely times too - a Family Wedding and a great week away with my Grandchildren.

In seventh heaven, as my eldest daughter is here for Christmas and, given the pleasures of international divorce, the first time I have seen her in quite a few years, and it's the best present imaginable - and forget the material ones.....

Had my second cataract operation and got new specs. My my you all look good tonight. Gained a bedroom as grandson and girlfriend have moved into their first house. Celebrated our Golden wedding anniversary last week and daughter has come to stay for Christmas. Booked to go to France next year for eight weeks so all is rosy at the moment. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow. xx

Had a stressful year. With both my aunt and Dad being ill. My aunt was the worse with multiple strokes and paralysed.

There's a couple of people on AB I've talked to about it (off-site) but since the various emails over the year make up a small book I might have to summarise... :P

tl;dr met first-ever girlfriend November last year, we broke up in March, I finally got over her about three weeks ago just in time to meet someone new. Well, maybe :)

Oh yeah, also I have moved about seven times in the last three months (including four different beds in a row one week in September (one of which was a sofa)), and some git offered me a flat then decided to not give me it after all (or, more importantly, give me my money back). So it's been interesting recently, to say the least.
