Now's the chance to show the politicians what you think of them.
In the local assembly elections I'll be voting for Clair Bailey of The Greens.

Did mine by post before I left home sandy. I voted for a UKIP and an independent.
No ... I think we are going through a time period of the worst politicians ever and not just here in the UK.

There aren't local elections in my area, but there is a police commissioner election. The candidates all represent political parties, which I didn't know before. I will be voting. Just for my chosen party. I don't know much about the man himself. Hardly anyone bothers to vote in these things so perhaps my vote might help, for a change.

I hope the independent wins a seat. :-)
The same politicians spew out the same tired sectarian rubbish here and it seems to do the trick for them.
It really is time for a change.
I heard this song... for Polly tishens..im a parrot im a parrot and im your closest fiend.. i say the same things every day & drive em round the bend...
I'm not....no council elections and going to the polling station only for some dodgy police commissioner. Nope, a protest no-show for me.
postals for me..and NONO NO to Nicola's misguided army...
Everybody should vote ! There are millions of people around the world, that don't have this basic democratic right.
not for a dodgy police commissioner - the only thing on the ballot down here. Waste of money - bet the turn out is less than 10 per cent.

Seems like Austin Mitchell was right.
We can only vote for a Police & Crime Commissioner here.

I refuse to vote, as I think the system is ridiculous.
manch

I'll probably vote for the councillor who can run the city facilities
such as Carmine Grimshaw

// not for a dodgy police commissioner -//

I think you mean dodgy chief constable - who are appointed by committees of the Great and Good who rule us

police commissioners are elected - and are not so dodgy ....
I'm going to vote for the candidate who stands for Labour. The turnout will be nothing, but I feel I have to do my bit. Who knows? If he gets a good result perhaps people around here might vote Labour in the general election feeling they might help.
Probably not, it's a very Conservative area.

You must be a wealthy man Sandy if you think you can afford a Green Council.
Question Author
Voting Green is something of a protest.
no
I have no idea who to support. They all seem as bad as each other. Should I retain the incumbents when I have issues with how things are, or try to get a different lot in who might mess up what little is right ? At least there is more choice in national elections.

Maybe I'll decide after my parcels have been delivered and I can go out.
As Cloverjo, we have Police Commissioner elections here.

I am unsure why they could not have been combined with the upcoming council elections, which would have saved closing schools for two day, when one would have been sufficient.

I will not be voting because none of the candidates have made any effort whatsoever to even advise me of their names, much less their manifestos and proposals. Therefore I would have no informed choice, so I will not waste my valuable time in a pointless exercise.
Aren't I the lucky one. So far I appear to be the only one to have 3 boxes to put my cross.
