I'm watching it at present and actually think that it is better this year, I thought that the transvestite was really good, also Sweden's entry, but one thing I'm really impressed by is the staging and lighting - I imagine that is all computerized nowadays but very clever all the same. We haven't got as far as Molly yet, but I do think that there is some good songs this year.

Cari, link at 23:45 ^^^^^^
The winner was a good song sung by a good voice. Basta!
The winner was man with a beard dressed as a woman, singing a great song very well. night all
SirP...that's a very offensive remark.....Your ignorance should shame you.
>>>SirP...that's a very offensive remark.....Your ignorance should shame you.

I suspect that Conchita might actually approve of being described as an 'it', since the whole point of his/her act (combining a dress with a beard) seems to be to point out that he/she is simply a performing artist, devoid of a specific gender.
No...disagree, Chris....an It....I find offensive.
Perhaps there should be a legally accepted third gender then it would benefit certain people who prefer not to be known as male or female, no problems then?

I didn't watch it, and feel much better for not having done so!
See how much nicer he looks in normal life when not dressing up in drag .....

Not a bad idea, Dunnitall....but not It....it would make me feel a bit grubby to describe the members of my family who dress differently as...It.
Not a bad idea, Dunnitall . . how about It?

gness - I find your comment somewhat offensive - I am certainly not ignorant; I also have an opinion. Don't you?

I suppose if you lack linguistic skills and have certain prejudices 'it' is as good as it's going to get!
Baldric - can you think of an appropriate alternative?

Where did the words certain prejudices come from?
Ahh...I see, Baldric...and compounded at 00.17.....thanks....x

///can you think of an appropriate alternative?/// . . . Transvestite ??

If you can't accept the above classification you are obviously prejudiced.
The winning act is taking the mickey - the name translates as 'Ladyparts Sausage'.......
And I don't share the good opinion of the song, average and forgettable - as far as I can remember.
The only time I hear a person referred to as..It is in a sneering or derogatory manner.
It happens often in school when a child is being teased or bullied.... I don't like the effect it has on the child....so I guess I don't like anyone being referred to as an...It.
There you go, Shoota...we do have something in common....didn't like the song either....☺
