How Hot Is It By You?

I know... a very obvious thread. But I always double take when the car temp reading is 30 degrees in this country!!
My parents have just returned from Majorca and it was 2 degrees warmer in England than what they left behind.
How hot is it where you are?

Does anybody else find that later in the day (say 4pm) feels a lot hotter than earlier in the afternoon. You would imagine that it should begin to cool down but I find early evenings stifiling!

It's got up to 31 the last few days and our area is now in an official heatwave. We could do with some air conditioning in doors but for now I'll just have to make do with it in the car and spend as long as I can loitering round the chiller cabinets in the supermarkets.

28 deg here in East Midlands but seems hotter!! I have a great little programme installed on my computer which displays the current temperature outside - on the screen.
Don't worry it will break next week - from Wednesday, as we are going away for 3 days visiting the Tatton Park Flower Show and rain follows us wherever we go! - wanna place a bet on it? LOL ;)

That's right. Generally the heat peaks around 5 or even 6 o'clock at the moment.

I watched an old recording of Come Dine With Me yesterday and it was snowing - what I would have given to be running around in that lovely cool snow .... !! It's too hot for me and mine just now.

I have just driven back along the M4 from Cardiff to Swansea and the temp. gauge in my little Fiesta registered 29 degrees. I have had the car for 3 years and it has never been that high before. The lowest it has shown was minus 6, at 07.00 on the Tuesday after Easter Monday this year.

When I was standing in the open at around 13.00 today, the sun was so strong that it actually hurt to stand under it.

We Welsh are just not used to this. Rain we can cope with, as the Welsh National Costume is made of Gore-Tex these days, and anyway, we come into this world pre-shrunk.

But 29 degrees ..............Yeuck !
