Here are some tips I thought of when working on Saturday, feel free to add more--

Scenario 1- The item doesn't scan- this does not mean it 'Must be free'

Scenario 2- The cashier uses a pen to check all notes for forgeries- this shouldn't be an opportunity to practise comedy comebacks like 'I made that this morning!'

Scenario 3- The cashier holds out their hand and states the cost of the items- they are not just holding it there for fun, money should be put in their hand, not on the counter.

Scenario 4- It is a very very hot day outside you (the customer) state this fact to the cashier- do not be offended by the murderous looks you are now receiving, they are wondering how you could have the cheek to say this when they are stuck inside away from the lovely sunshine

Scenario 5- An item is on buy one get one free there is only one of said item left, do not be annoyed when you can only buy one and not get the 'one free' the clue is in the T&Cs (subject to availability)

Scenario 6- An item you want to buy is more than you expected so you complain to a shop assistant- this will get you nowhere, they do not set the prices and are probably wondering why you don't just go somewhere else.

Sophie - you know what this means. I actually look old. : o (
I went into a beauty salon recently and asked to book a facial. They asked me what type I wanted and I asked what they offered. Another staff member looked at me over the shoulder of the one asking, and said instantly said "anti-ageing". Aaaaaggghhhh.
That's just damn rude!
