I'll only eat carrot batons, they DO taste better than sliced. It annoys OH who insists they all taste the same.

Maybe they are cooked more...and you like them more cooked? Personally I don't like them very cooked. Unless they are roasted to a crisp!

for diced read batons..doh
You think...? I think they taste the same.
I think so too, I don't know why though.
I think when sliced across into circles they seems to absorb more moisture, whereas the batons don't.
It's similar to how a sandwich cut into triangles tastes better than one just cut in half.

Why do sandwiches get cut into triangles when you've got visitors?
grated cheese always tastes better than sliced.
I always cut sandwiches into triangles and cut the crusts off. But someone always eats the crusts anyway.
Oh sandwich triangles are just soo darling.

Can i let you into a secret? Ooh i shouldn't but i'll tell you anyway!

I have a large selection of novelty cookie cutters in all shapes and sizes which i use to make sandwiches more interesting if any of the gangs kids, nieces or nephews come around and they are just fabulicious for bbq's and as finger food for any parties or soirees!

Remember darlings, you hear this here first!

Looks like the baton lovers have a more sophisticated palette:-)
So glad to read this - I always thought it was just me being quirky. Batons do taste better (and I like carrots al dente too)
I'm not keen on diced anything much. It might as well come out of a tin if its diced. I like carrots sliced on the diagonal best!
Surely it's easier to get the 60° corners of a trianglular sandwich into your mouth than the 90° corner. How many of us, faced with a half sandwich, cut diagonally, start on the 90° corner?
