I've got a "set" of socks (yeah, yeah, I know) from the men's bit of Next or M&S or somewhere.
It was a pack of seven pairs with the days of the week on the bottom of the foot.
Whenever I wear them, I think it would look a bit anal to wear the socks for the correct day. So ...
I make a point of avoiding the socks for that day.
But then I wonder ... is it equal anal to rummage through the drawer to find some socks with a different day on them.
Just to make things worse, I also avoid the socks with the previous day written on the bottom, in case it looks like I'm still wearing the socks I had on yesterday, lol.
And now I'm posting on the web about my stupid socks. Aaaaaagghhh!!!
No one could be accused of being anally retentive if they carefully matched a sock from the Tuesday pair, say, with one from another day.
Why, doing that could make one be considered positively Bohemian
I have two pairs if socks with left and right on them...a gift from my grand kids...I always wear them correctly except when the kids are around...they truly believe I don't know my L from my R ...they love it when I put two left ones on. He he!
I also have a set of seven cut throats which I used to use regularly in the right order....gone electric now though..my old hands are unpredictable....mmmm....
I agree with Sqad. What do people really mean when they use the term "anal" as in "anally retentive", or some other construct? To me, "anally retentive" is a posh word for constipation.
bung them in the drawer loose and then just get two socks out and put them on whatever they say. as the days are on the bottom of the socks who sees them besides you?
