Yes, I feel for her.
He will be watching all the events on TV from his hospital bed I think Lisa.

I know, but its not the same is it, I could actually cry for her [I know that sounds sad] not having the man that has been by her side through thick and thin by her side on such a memorable occasion.

On a lighter note..... the parrot was delish!

Think you are being a bit over-sentimental divegirl. From my memories (and as you know, I am getting on a bit) he has not been by her side constantly, and has in fact been quite a womaniser, although it was swept carefully under the mat so the hoi-polloi (that's you and me) did not notice too much. However, now that they are both the same as me, very old, perhaps we can give a little. She is a strong woman and quite capable of going on alone. Also he has not been exactly diplomatic over the years and many of his faux-pas' have had to covered up. The queen herself is a model of what royalty should be.
Maybe it's poor Philip not having Queenie there to sympathize...:-)

Agree absolutely Star...but it has been an amazing 'show' these past few days, I for one have loved every minute and it would have been nice to see a happy ending.

I dont think that you like Prince Phillip very much do you Star.

Interesting thought commoner, would have been a lot of unhappy organisers to deal with though!
To her though, she has said that he has been "her rock" throughout her reign - she certainly must be missing him.
\\\\he has not been by her side constantly, and has in fact been quite a womaniser, although it was swept carefully under the mat so the hoi-polloi (that's you and me) did not notice too much. \\\\

Sounds like a normal bloke to me.........one can be a womaniser AND supportive if a wife.
No, you are right, tony, I don't. A poor role model for his children, for a start. Among other things. When they first got together he used to be referred to as 'Phil the Greek' (by us common people) and that's how I tend to think of him.
Sqad - Yes, all right for a normal bloke, but he is not supposed to be normal - he is supposed to be up there above us as a model of propriety, not impropriety.
OK star I get where your coming from, but I also have sympathy for sqad theory ( you know me being a bloke and all that ).
\\\he is supposed to be up there above us as a model of propriety, not impropriety.\\\

No... I disagree........i have never trusted "models of propriety."
Does that mean you don't trust the Queen sqad? She does not seem to put a foot wrong (although she may of course and we may never hear about it).
So sad to see her walking up the aisle alone and arriving accompanied by her Lady in Waiting in the car. Couldn't they have rejigged the line-up, maybe Harry could have gone in the car with her, he would have had a cheery word for her, and Charles accompany her down the aisle. It seemed to emphasise her loneliness, she was probably thinking that this is how it will be some day.
