they where inedible
A lot of airlines have stopped them as an inclusive.you now have to pay extra
for them. We never have them now, not paying extra for rubbish.
Money grabbing...
Cost I expect. Some airlines still do them.
Parsimony.

so has anyone travelled with Thomson's since the change and what are the costs of the meal that you have to buy?
I once opened one, took my napkin, wrote RIP on it, laid it on top of the meal and handed it back to the cabin crew.
Yes i've got a flight coming up with them but didn't book the meal. Not sure what it was , £6 £12 each way?
You still get them on long haul...
No, I don't know if it depends on length of flight, how many hours in the air, how many meals.
They are usually dire but I read somewhere that famous chefs are now catering for certain airlines. At a cost most probably.
When we flew in the summer (with cheapo airlines) I got everyone drink and a sandwich (rubbish sandwich - all the good ones he gone by the time they got to us), cost nearly £50!
If you're booking on line, I think there is somewhere that tells you, if in a shop
the rep will be able to tell you costs.
Sherrard, everyone, that could be 50 people on the plane, not bad for £1 each!
How times have changed, during the sixties I flew to Toronto, Los Angeles and on to Hawaii. On all three stages we were given a menu to choose from and the food was excellent.
We flew Air Lanka a few years ago, got presented with a beautiful menu to choose from, and the food was great.
It depends on the length of the flight.
They were never free, they were included in the price of the air ticket. Now they are an optional extra which if you dont want you dont pay for, unlike before
Agreed but the price didn't go down when they stopped them.
Prices have gone down.
As ummmmmm says, prices for air travel went down cosiderably when easyjet,, ryanair etc came upon the scene and initiated these savings
