How many have you had ?

Im afraid Im a real tea and coffee addict, so its no good them telling me too many is no good for you as I cant give it up or cut down.
Ive been up since 5.30. Had 2 coffees at BF to wake me up, and Ive had two since being on here so thats 4 up to now. I shall have at least 1 when I arrive at work at 10.30 another about 1pm and 2pm and maybe 4pm and 6pm then when I get home at 7.30. Thats it then. I make that 10 at least !

How many do you drink in a normal day ?

I am an avid tea drinker. I have been up since 6 and have had 4 cups of tea so far, the kettle is on to make another and I will drink them pretty much all day as I am off work at the mo and I'm bored! lol

If I have one cup of tea a day, that does me - and sometimes a cup of coffee at work. I just don't feel the need for it. I drink loads of tap water.

good to know that Im not alone. All our family have always been tea bellies as the kettle was always on the go. As soon as anyone called in which was often as we always had an open door policy, the kettle went straight on and everyone had another cuppa, so I blame my childhood :>(

I can't drink it much now since I gave it up for lent once. The withdrawal wasn't pleasant.

My OH doesnt drink much tea/coffee either. He manages all day at work with water only. I too drink a lot of water. No water Im sloshing around all day and forever going to the loo :>)

Up at seven, so one with breakfast.

Just about to have one more with a break.

Two at lunch, one in the afternoon, two with tea, usually one before bed, so that's around seven a day give or take - not bad really.

I used to work in an ofice where we had one at 08:30, one at 09:30, one at 11:00, one at 12:00, one at 13:30, and one at 15:00, so at least I've cut down from then!

I go up to about 10 cups of tea a day. I've been up just over two hours so far today and I'm on my 4th cup.

I use tea in the same way others do alcohol in the evenings and if they don't have to stop then neither will I :)

Andy, I was the same when I once worked on a conveyor belt. On the hour, every hour, we would take it in turns to go and get tea/coffee. Its the only thing that broke the boredom and got us through the day

1st tea in the morning is vital to wake me and get me going but maybe just 3 or 4 in the day. 14 years ago I stopped smoking and before that it used to be a fag and a cuppa and smoking nearly 20 a day well I lose count of how much tea I had then.

Thats true Wendilla, I do like to two together. I often flick the kettle on before I go out for a cig then have a nice cuppa ready when I've finished. No matter what others might say, I do actually enjoy that and I missed it in the brief spell I quit smoking.

sometimes I will drink half a cup and fill it up with hot water again and it feels like Ive had 2 cups but no extra caffeine ( thats good isnt it :>)

What were your side effects Umm? When I've "come off" before, it's just been a case of being grumpy and tired for a while but eventually feeling better over all (especially where sleep is concerned).

I am on my third cup of strong black tea and I think I will reach ten by the end of the day. Not a big coffee drinker though. I am so addicted to tea that I smell the T bags in the tin before I make a cuppa. I didn't realise I did until my son pointed it out.

I reckon I average about 4 coffees a day. 2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon.

The post by wendilla reminded me of a friend who decided to cut down on smoking by having one after every meal. I asked him how was getting on and he replied, fine I'm down to twenty meals a day.

I used to drink loads....about 10 - 15 cups of strong coffee....topped up with coke. I had really bad headaches and nausea that lasted about 2 weeks. I suppose the sudden drop in the amount of sugar I was consuming (2 a cup) didn't help.

Now it's opposite...If I drink too much of it I feel sick and get a headache...sometimes I forget...
