Aye...I know a bloke who still wears a school uniform and he left school over 50 years ago.
If I remember, school clothes were thrown off and old casual gear worn. Whatever you are comfortable with.
I was extremely proud of passing the exam to get into a grammar school and absolutely refused to take my uniform off after school; I wanted everyone to see me wearing it!

Even now I never change my clothes during a day unless there's an obvious reason for doing so. e.g. if I've been to a formal occasion in my best suit in the morning, I'll carry on wearing it all day long (unless, of course, I'm going to be some decorating or similar).

Similarly, if I've thrown an old paint-splattered sweatshirt on in the morning to do some decorating, I'll then wear it all day long (unless, of course, I'm going out somewhere and feel the need to smarten myself up a bit).

Unless you've got a reason to change out of your school uniform, why bother?
You need to get changed so that your shirt and skirt have time to refresh having been worn all day.
that seems a slightly odd answer tilly - clothes refresh themslves?
Well, hanging them up might remove a bit of the 'odour'.

I don't suppose that Imogen wears freshly washed school shirt and skirt every day.
The second thing, after the blazer, I would take off is the tie. I seemed to have worn a collar and tie from infants school to retirement. When I retired 26 years ago I swore I would never wear a tie again unless it was a wedding or funeral
and I haven't . Sometimes wear a cravat though.
'Normal' doesn't apply. You should take off your school uniform when you get home from school. That will ensure that your uniform lasts longer and isn't worn out before its time.
Unless I was going to do something that might dirty my clothes I can remember wearing my uniform all day some days. I was very proud of it. 1960s northern Grammar School, there was plenty of homework and uniform kept your mind focussed. I still advise pupils to wear uniform for exams (things like entrance exams).
I, too, was proud of my uniform. That's why I got changed immediately after getting home. All hung up and ready for the morning.
From my experience both as a child and parent, we grew out of our school uniforms long before they wore out. Wear whatever is the most comfortable, you are at home.
Hasn't done Angus Young any harm.
ahem...Doug.
Yes Roy, how can I help? :-)
You are not going on line after school and "chatting" to BBC presenters or other influencers are you?
No, you need to be in bed
Well I used to wear my school skirt , shirt and tie at least until 9pm. But that was a different age, we did things differently then.
yes damn
I was gonna say, if it OK even if you are the pub

the old words were - change down

should I change down after school? - yes if it is stiff collars, and starched shirts.

I always found uniform comfortable and wondered why I should

Parents of course find it easier to keep clean
Only if you have an only fans internet channel
OG, you wore a skirt? That was different!
