Doctor now thinks it's gout! Scan has shown no DVT thank goodness.
Legs and feet still very swollen. One big toe really swollen and inflamed.
Just as well we cancelled our holiday we were due to go on tomorrow. He is in so much pain. I hope the new meds kick in soon.
That's really bad luck, Caran. Although it's been the subject of jokes for centuries, I've heard that gout an awful thing to suffer from - I hope modern meds can sort it out pronto.
Sympathies, gout is horrible - not least for the fact that everyone thinks its amusing to tell you about your 'rich living' and drinking too much port. I'm tee-total, so not often finding humour in that hoary old wives' tale.
For those who don't suffer - imagine dropping a full double wardrobe on your big toe - that's what it feels like.
You can get it in your knees as well. My husband was confined to his armchair for over a week as he couldn’t bear the pain of just standing up.
There is a thing called pseudo gout too, which is just as painful.
