oil central heating

I ran out of oil completely and have had a new delivery to day. However, my heating is still not working. The glass 'fuel bowl' near the boiler is half full (normally is full) so how do I bleed it through? or what do I do? It is a condensing boiler if that makes a difference. Any help much appreciated we are very cold, sitting here in our coats :)

look for anything that might need to be "reset".............in the boiler or outside if you have a firevalve.................best of all, check the handbook/manual.........................should cover this.................

Hi thanks yes I had done all of these things. It looks like I somehow need get the filter bowl to fill with fuel again???

Somewhere at the boiler there should be a little outlet which can be opened with a small spanner.

Unscrew it a fraction and let the air out, until you get a bit of fuel coming out. (Your hands will now stink of burning oil all evening.)

Now press the reset button and try to fire up the boiler.

Never tried it myself, tinknells charge �200 quid to sort it out. Filter might need changing :S

There will be a valve that can be opened slightly to cure the airlock.
