The Prophet

Please explain how a CRT, which is a vacuum device, can ever possibly explode ?
Implode , yes.
a strong magnet placed on the middle of the screen is meant to ruin them - don't know though, could be a myth - i doubt many people are prepared to risk trying it...lol
It would be hard explaining on the insurance claim form how you 'accidentally' held a strong magnet up against the screen.
Well nobody seems to comment that this is dishonest and is the reason why all our insurance goes up, but there you go perhaps I am just old fashioned.
funnily enough I was thinking the same thing lady_p

It really frustrates me when people think that this is totally acceptable but still moan when their own insurance costs go up!

Also amazes me that people like stokeace doesn't want 'criminal asylum seekers' to come into the country but is happy enough to condone fraud.

A lot of insurance companies are now using lie detectors to try and prevent this sort of fraudulent behaviour.

You wouldn't post a question on here on how to cheat the benefits system - why do you think that making fraudulent insurance claims is acceptable?

actually in the 10 years i have been paying my premiums i havent yet claimed ONCE. I havent actually done anything, and asked what was the best way. i take your point but i dont actually moan about rising premiums, coz i havent ever claimed mine havent ever really risen. some people have real household accidents all the time, so what would my one, for all the years of claiming hurt? once in ten years?
Question Author
i meant to say "for all the years of paying" not claiming
and exactly the same argument would be:

I have paid National Insurance Contributions all my life, I have rarely used the doctors and never had an operation. I have also never claimed dole / housing benefit / child support. Therefore, i would like to ask the best way of claiming Unemployment Benefit (despite the fct that I am not entitled to it)

After all, plenty of other people do it - "so what would my one, for all the years of claiming hurt?"

Insurance is not some type of savings plan.

What you are asking to do it is fraud. No ifs, no buts. Fraud.
oneyedvic surely your name should be J.C, cos it seems youve never done anything illegal in all your life.

well when u reach the pearly gates Oneeyedvic at least you know you'll be gaurenteed a place upwards, i on the other may well go downwards for [contemplating] commiting a sin. forgive me father. lol
Oneeyedvic you sound like one old boring fart..............your comments are sooooooo boring
-- answer removed --
...err..panic button, funnily enough, you don't tell them that!!

it just stops working....
Try the FREECYCLE in your area. They mustn't sell anything, it has to be given away. They keep items from going into a tip. Its not all old stuff, Iv'e had a computer for a friend, a sewing machine etc: etc.
Just search on the web for 'freecycle', there will be on in your area, or close by.
I have done (and still do) things that are illegal (speeding probably being the main one).

However, if I have a speeding ticket - then its my own fault. If (heaven forbid) I injure somebody whilst speeding, i will of course be punished. Apart from that, I will probably continue to speed as there are (so long as I am aware) no people who are harmed.

What is being suggested on here is fraud. As well as being a criminal offense (like speeding) It also means that insurance premiums go up every year and it is an offense that cost me (and most people in this country) a lot of money.

Still, I am obviously in the minority - most people (except lady_p) are obviously happy to pay these premiums.
I'm with you oneeyedvic- fraud is fraud -this may be a little fraud compared to some but I don't want to pay higher premiums either.
Question Author
OMG, so your trying to tell me that your speeding that could kill someone, is ok coz u would get punished, and that makes it ok???????!!!! wouldnt bring someones child or loved one back would it!! My possible claim doesnt physicaly hurt anyone nor does it cause irepriable (cant spell it) damage, yet your preaching to me!! have a laugh
The thing with a magnet up to the screen doesnt actually stopthe tv set from working, just turns the screen purple and green
Why not 'knacker' the tv a fun way, like throwing out a window or something =D ...doubt whether insurance would cover that though!
You are missing my point - (deliberately I guess).

If you are happy enough to commit fraud, then go for it.
oneeyedvic, have you never done anything wrong in your life, have you never stolen a bar of chocolate from a shop as a kid or maybe had to much change given you when youve bought something and not given it back, maybe bought two things and only got charged for one? cos if you havent you really are the great almighty, it isnt right what she is doing but weve all done something wrong which has a domino effect on others be it large or small and thats why this isnt and never will be a perfect world
