I recently bought these...edgekeeper scissors...from wilko.

I cannot get the protective sheath off. I've gripped and pulled, it doesn't budge. I'm a bit afraid to pull to hard...I've visions of sharp blades flying. Maybe there's a secret button...

OK sorted then Pasta, but how is the sharpener meant to work?

The sharpener is positioned between the 2 red sections on the sheath. I've not tried it yet.

OK pasta a bit like a sharpening stone then, or a steel you use on a carving knife?

Looks like it Tony.
Woof, I suspect it was putting it in the freezer. I also held it with the other side facing me...unlike the illustration on the package. Though that may not have made a difference.
