How long does a home charger take to fully charge a flat battery @ 5amps?

A good battery (although flat) ... overnight 8 - 12 hrs.

Thanks Albags, mine went flat today just as I was going to hospital for an appointment, and had to get a taxi instead. Sods law I suppose.
If the battery is old, and you didn't leave the lights on, then I suggest you buy a new battery.

If you don't, you will soon be spending more on taxis.
