So very fatigued due to tail end of chemo.
Decide to visit car wash and treat car to wash and dry.
Join queue and 4 cars ahead of me at this super car wash that is popular.
Thus Start car pull forward , cut engine, start car pull forward ...
Make it into car wash and off it goes.
Wash finishes.
Press foot down on Clutch and press start button.
Dash board lights up like a Christmas tree and click click a dozen times with all dash lights flashing and it says System Fault ...errr
Try a few times and the same.
Handbrake is electronic and stuck on.
A few chaps tried to push car out , but no chance with hand brake on.
Called dealership and they Key Fob has lost code and get spare.
So car wash now shut due to me blocking it and took taxi home and got spare Key Fob, leaving car unlocked.
Back to garage and still no good. Phone RAC and 2-3 hour wait.
Phoned dealership and then agreed to send a technician out to me.
He arrived after 15 mins and said battery is flat.
So goes away to get a new battery. Returns after 20 minutes fits new battery and it starts and handbrake releases ok.
All done under warranty as car is only 18 months old and only done 9,000 miles.
I think because of my illness and only doing trips under 6 miles for last couple of. Moths did battery in ?
Oh well I single handily put the new super car wash out of action for 2 hours.

How awful for you after all your problems. At least it was under warranty.
What a palaver for you, get some rest over weekend if you can.

*** bloody law.
I feel like crap and fatigued.
Car decides to breakdown at that point.
First time I have had a car let me down in 19 years.
Groan .....
The price we pay for “advanced” technology. I preferred having more control over a car. Poor you.

Funny thing was people asking if I could move so they could use car wash. Then a few making suggestions to try and release handbrake that I had already tried ...then next one and so on.
Garage were not to happy.
I said if you can move it , then please do.

I hate electronic handbrake ....cable and leaver wins every time.
How frustrating, you must be exhausted Sirandy.
Is there something about your experience that you've forgotten to mention?

The car is a computer on wheels.
It's only a simple Nissan Qashqui .
Five camera on it and it can self park - something I used once to test it and I gave it a 5 out of 10 for parallel parking with nose jutting out a bit.
Too much tech in cars.

Maydup - Yes I was. It's depressing not being able to do things I could a few months ago, including hand washing car myself.
So figured trip to car wash was easy option lol
SirAndy....I know how you felt....I once put a carwash out of action when the brushes went between my car body and the bumper and ground to a halt.....
The carwash man....when I was finally free but he no longer had a carwash....chased me along the road, shouting and swearing that I was banned.....as if I'd go back....

Hope your chemo is going well and you're on the recovery road...Gx

Maydup - Like your Clarice Cliff Autumn Crocus Stamford shape replica teapot. Do you collect ? I do and have a few tea sets in that shape. I collect Sunshine pattern.
Real bad luck that, SIRandyraven. Right at the time when you really don't need it.
I to hate those electronic handbrakes, a pain in the butt.

I foresee expensive problems with those things when cars that are fitted with them are few years old !.

Thanks Gness - That made me smile ...being banned from a car wash .
I used to work as a student in a self service station and we had a car wash. It was 1979-1984 so a very basic wash machine.
Some shaped cars it didn't like and would stall half way, with brushes rotating and water gushing. So I had to rescue them via a red stop button and reset. But only after they had caught my attention by hooting horn. If I was serving they had to wait.
I once put a carwash out of action when the brushes went between my car body and the bumper and ground to a halt.....

I should have know'n

Was that an old car with a chrome bumper, gness.

Anyway time to sleep and dream of car washes...
Well my chap must have been serving, SirA.....I was hooting for ages before he came.....and then he went crazy... :-(

It was, Tony...probably the Ensign..it was my fun car.....x

Sleep well, SirA...x
Sorry you had all this trouble, just when you wanted to go home and rest. Hope all goes well for you.
Ooo....that's brought the memory back.....the sound a jammed carwash brush makes is exactly the same sound as the Tardis makes.....just incase you ever...... ;-)
LOL, a Standard Ensign. It's a wonder the car didn't fall apart before the car wash brushes got mangled.
