My iron is sticking to my clothes, rather than "gliding" across them. It's not on too hot, I've turned it right down. Never had this problem with it before. It's about 7 years old. Has it had it's day, or does it need some tlc?

I would guess the thermostat has gone making it heat up hotter than the setting. I remember years ago I had a iron which done the same thing. I think after about 7 years you have had good service from it & think I would ditch it & buy a new one but don't do like I did & buy a cheapy one. It was false economy & it dripped like mad! hope this helps
Has it stopped steaming? When this happened to us it was because the iron had stopped steaming which means it is time to get a new one!
