This musty smell first started in May and then disappeared only to return last night it makes me feel sick and I don't know why it's here and it seems strange that it's reappeared after months I don't know what to do about it has anyone got any suggestions I should also add that the smell sticks in my nose.

Shower and wash your clothes more often.

Then give your nose an enema
Question Author
Thanks for the advice I don't know what an enema is as I've never heard of it.
an enema is what they give you in hospital to stick up your backside..
to clear you out before an op, sorry to be so graphic
You might of had Corona virus as that can make you loose the sense of smell for awhile

My sense of smell has always been very strong and has never left it's the smell of must that disappeared.
Mould?
Is it all over the house or worse in some rooms?
do you have a lot of old books they can smell musty .also clothing etc if left can .i use vacuum closing bags to store things in .
So it occurs when the temperature is neither too cold nor too hot, spring & autumn. Nothing getting under your floorboards, is there ?
Do you have gas in the house? It could be you have a small leak or the fumes from your boiler are leaking into the house.
bobinwales, The correct grammar is: you might HAVE had corona virus, not, you might OF had. This type of use of the English language is what dilutes it for the worst. I know. You're in wales. Not England.
I understand but I think grammar correction is frowned upon here. Considered unfriendly rather than helping.
In answer to the OP, as OG says, check under your floor boards. Might be an ingress of water.

I think that my bedroom needs to be tidied yes I have a lot of books and magazines on the floor but I have a system I can't out them onto a bookshelf until I've read them and I have clothes all over the floor.
You need to re-think your 'system.' Have a good bash at clearing up.
Question Author
It will have to wait as I need help and my family are working.
are you disabled or had a lot of birthdays if so could you get help from help the aged etc
In no particular order, open a window, put all used dishes in the sink, bin all those tissues, pick up the clothes and have a hot shower, not forgetting your feet.
Is it just in your bedroom then? What about the rest of your family. Do they smell it as well?
