How, did you use a brush then as the roller didn't roll?

Was there a sleeve of some kind covering the roller, or a piece of plastic to keep it together in transit?

No I just rolled? on the one side - up and down. Again I could have had another accident. Was trying to do the bit at the ceiling level and had one foot on the countertop and one on the ladder. Me, I'll never learn.
I would say a fault in manufacture.

Ask the Retailer for a replacement or a refund of its cost.

Hans.

no just the roller (lambs wool) - I did submerge the roller deep into the paint. If I had have applied pressure - I would have turned into a dalmatian.
Question Author
my painting days need to be over and whilst I painted the whole living room last year - it is too much. I'm nearly a hundred now LOL

I think you need to insert the brush less firmly into the paint, but apply more pressure when you're putting it on the wall.
Question Author
yes that's probably why it didn't roll - no tray. Haven't said that I don't recall using a tray last year cos it would have been all over the place. It's done now anyhoo.

Then of course whilst at the top you know that the top of cupboards need a thorough clean with all the fat that lies on the top.

So one thing or another keeps you back.
So you just dipped your roller into the tin of paint? Ok! I imagine that would make more of a mess than using a tray, but you got it done anyway.

The tops of kitchen cupboards are always hideous.

Engine oil degreaser works on kitchen cabinet tops.

thanks Spath - shoulda looked at that before I started.

BM - that's done too. Don't think I'll be up at the ceiling for many a long day.
No tray for a paint roller, the mind boggles.
Have to agree with you there sparkly
