We have moved into a new build house and despite a shaver socket being listed in the Specifications, it was not installed anywhere in the house. The developer doesn't answer our queries. If we pay to get one installed, is the developer liable for the cost?

If they're not taking to you how will you make them pay
I'd add it to the snagging list and see where it goes from there.
If it's a major builder you stand some chance of rectification.
Don't you have a snag list to submit...usually this is expected by developers...is there still a showhouse open with developers rep there ?

Tried the snagging list and it is ignored. Sadly, no show house!
Do you have an NHBC in Scotland?
You could mention the developers name on twitter and add that you are having problems receiving a reply relating to problems with a new build. Ask if anyone else has experience of dealing with them.
See what replies come back ..
At this point you are getting nowhere, you will not be spreading scandal. You are just seeking advice.

No business likes bad press.
