hello all, I suspected it would be a warm one as it was warm at 4.30 this morning, the dogs were actually panting when we got back to the car. Our dear neighbours haven't actually got the hang of living quietly when its hot and all the windows are open so were slamming car and garage doors and chatting on the mobile till all hours last night....was it Cat Stevens who used to sing "I'm gonna get a gun"? I know how he felt
Snap woofy we both posted at the same time. How's things?
Well...♫.I'm gonna get me a gun♫ ..and shoot myself with it pretty soon :)
My leg is no better in spite of these medicaments and I am throughly piddled off .I Hope when I see my doctor later this afternoon he will have some wonder drug that will either kill or cure it .All I can say is thank goodness for my men who have been really good because I can hardly walk .I've got what they call one good leg and a swinger :) Can't get a shoe on and I had chucked last years flip flops away .Mr S went and bought me some new ones bless him .I shall never moan at his tin tidying habits ever again :)

Hope all you lovely people are Ok and enjoying this lovely weather .I am mostly stuck there supervising the watering with me leg stuck up on a cushion

A'noon people...oooh, poor you shaney, sorry you're no better, I hope the doc comes up with something to help...I'm surprised you say lovely weather, it's probably fresher on the coast, but here its' way too heavy & sticky, poor Charlie doesn't cope with it anymore...and neither do I.

Did you watch the tennis? It was brilliant play from both of them but I'm not sure about this night time thing, it didn't seem right somehow. Anyhoo, there we sat enjoying it....well Chas was under the coffee table asleep...and aaaggghhhh!.... in walked a cat!! The local bird murderer no less. Silly article had come through the window! Luckily I think Chas was too shocked to move and it was shown the door toot sweet.

well Vinny I demand to see all drawings in progress, I'm still not convinced there's no jiggery-pokery going on.... :o)

Afternoon each. Sorry to hear you are no better Shaney let's hope the Dr has a magic potion.
I've just got back from a lovely time in Lincoln. I bought a pair of shorts (got to shave my legs now) and a pair of shoes and my sister bought 2 pairs of shoes which, when we found a seat by the river, she proceeded to change into a pair of them. Counldn't wait.
We had a Thorntons Double Ice Cream Cone and I got it all dripping down my front just like a kid!! My Sister said nobody will notice and the first thing her daughter said when we met up with her was "What you been eating then?"
Loved the tennis last night but thought Andy was heading for a defeat at first but in the end it turned out to be a really good match.
The sun was shining beautifully in Lincoln but now we're home it is quite muggy and dull. I would appreciate a drop of refreshing rain for about and hour.

Think I'll make myself a banana smoothy now.
Take care bye for now x

Oh lovely just spend a couple of mins in pool, it was so refreshing. A couple of mins = 24 laps as its a very small pool!! One dive and you are halfway down the road. I'd love to do that underwater turn that swimmers do but a) I hate water and b) there is no room!

Well, old people do repeat themselves, don't they, don't they?
Hi all, things are okay thanks Neti...normality gradually resuming. I even have a new hobby, buffing my fingernails :-) I never liked me in nail polish and filing sets my teeth on edge so i just used to clip and ignore but latterly my nails have grown vertical ridges then split down the ridge which is blooming painful...anyway thought if I got rid of the ridges, it might stop the splits and it has! I have gone all Busby Berkeley with one of those chammy nail buffers film stars used to use and no longer have hands like a navvy, whoda thunk it at my age...whatever next....stockings with seams and one of those dressing gowns with swansdown round the neck??? (down Vinny!)
shaney you poor soul...cellulitis does take its time...d i remeber righly that you make cards? maybe its time for a little enforced crafting? On a practical note. a consultant mate of mine always reccomends a multivitamin when treating any kind of infection, so if you don't already, maybe worth a try? he used to reckon that sanatogen gold were the thing but they are a bit huge to swallow and contain a lot of iron which can ummm gum up the works shall we say?
can you run that by me again neti, I didn't quite catch it...

oooh, nails. I can watch all kinds of operations on the tele but if it's nails....(or feet,lol)....nooooo. I don't think I could stand to have anyone else filing mine & doing that cuticle thing so it's just as well I don't need them to. The one good thing I have is strong nails...I can turn screws with 'em, haha, handy if you get locked in a loo.... and they grow so fast I have to cut them about twice a week. Ironic intit? I really don't want over-long square (yuk!) nails & yet I could have them for free! Oddly enough I've put polish on this week for the first time in aaaages, it's just a nude shade, Revlon, & it really dries smoothly & hides any ridges.

oh what did you mention ice-cream for Jude? Now I fancy some....
oops.sorry shaney..I didnt read the threads..Im sorry your going through some crap at the mo...I wish you well darling...you and robi have stuck with me right from the start.and Fakeplastic..
nearly 5 years now..wow....(:O)that guy could sure dance..take care..nighty night..(:O)xxxx
Hello lovelies
Just had five bottles of blood taken out of me arm. My GP is a bit concerned .This is all bleeding under the skin and has become ulcerated .Deep joy :) The new word for today is Crepitus as I have now got to have both my knees xrayed on Friday .This is going to mean another wash out of the crunchy bits I should imagine .Ooh I'm cheesed off .

On a more serious note I want to know where you got your nail buffer Woofy .I had a lovely chammy one years ago which I lost on me travels somewhere .All I can seem to find are those like a nail file type thing where you have to fiddle about with different surfaces .
I still do card making but to be honest I am so anxious about all this that I can't seem to concentrate on anything plus my GP has now put me on stronger antibiotics plus some other tablets & painkillers . I feel a bit spaced out :)

Very dull here at the moment and muggy .Picky said it was murder in Norwich yesterday ,so hot ,yet here it was lovely ,just right .We get the old sea fog rolling in,
in the night and it cools it down .
Hope you are all OK. You are all kind and lovely people xx
Have sent you all an email, which is so lovely to look at. nothing to pass on, nothing to pay no probs, just enjoy it.
Just went into a local shop in the village and a little black boy no older than 3 came up and put his arms out so I bobbed down and we cuddled, he was so sweet, then he started rabbitting on and I didn't understand a word, I tried
spanish and English but nothing, then the shop lady told me it was French, he was gorgeous and I so wanted to bring him home. Never seen him there before. No Madonna or mj in sight. He made my day.
Steady on neti, you won't be so enchanted when he turns up with his case & half a dozen brothers, haha... Mail was lovely thanks (love the Celine track). The dragonfly would be a great poster, I think Vinny should paint it.

Oh shaney that crepitus sounds a bit cr4pitus to me...chin up and keep cool. I asked my neighbour about the cellulitis & yes, she did stay in hospital for about 5 days, but I don't think it's a place you'd want to be in this weather. I'm putting in a cosmic order this afternoon....I'll add a cure for all biddy ailments. xx

Yep Vin, 5 years we've been hanging around ....we've turned a blind eye to all those trollops, fallen over the empties, stayed up all night knitting your cardies...where else would you find such loyalty? :o) SOOO Vincent, how dare you say you haven't read the posts....tsk!....go right back to the start, read & digest....I'll be asking questions later.

phew, 'tis a bit scorchio intit? Shock, horror! I'm wearing a skirt! I've got some eggs frying on the path & the bread's hanging on the line...oh poop, one side's burnt....<I know a man who'll eat it>

just have to say I loved this week's Kingdom with Jack dee, it wasn't quite so silly and Beatrice was almost sane!!

Have just had an email from amazon recommending that I read Nella's Last Peace - have any of you read this one? Obviously continues on after the war. although I guess the dvd covered it all.
Robi , I was amazed when I first arrived here in Ibiza in July and mum actually fried an egg on the patio floor to show me the heat. Actually went for a healthy walk this am but once back at the foot of the hill leading home, I was shattered and almost had to phone Mr N to come and collect me - so v hot and humid - horrible. Reference to the pool = 24 lengths etc, the pool is so small that would only take about 2 mins to do 24 laps? geddit? << oh gawd, old wimmin!>>
I got my buffer and a pot of of delightfully retro pink cream here.

I am about to lash out on a leighton denny crystal nail file on me boots points.
Yoohoo again folks .Thanks for that Woofy . I shall order one .I've a got a nice nail file which is a sapphire one from germany from Pfeilring .Brilliant they are .Last for years .

Neti I can't open that file .It says I need Acrobat Reader and we have Foxitreader. We did have Acrobat but I can't find it anymore .I'll get Picky to fiddle with it .I've read Nella Last's Peace .V. good but she does ramble on a bit about what she's cooking for dinners .It's still all Spam and dried egg in spite of the war being over .
Anyway Robinia I have just the film for you unless of course you've already seen it . Aive reclained and watched a film during the day ,something I haven't done for years :) It stars, of course your fave and Helen Mirren .Greenfingers it's called .It was brilliant and great background music .
I suppose I could carry on with that beer cosy I started knitting for Vinny all those years ago :)) I'll see if can remember the pattern
