I have a necklace inhereted from Granny which I would have decribed as marcasite. But i saw exactly the same necklace in a small vintage jewellers with a different title. It was a word about 6 letters ling beginning with T.

I so wanted to remember what the style was called but it had gone by the time I got home and cannot go all the way back to look again. If it helps, The necklace was on sale for £98. I have searched high and low online and can find nothing similar. Its slightly less showy thatn marcasite, but similar.

could you post a picture of your jewellery?
Or take it into a jewellers and ask them to look at it
Topaz ?
I was also going to suggest pyrite, although it doesn't begin with T
Not 6 letters but could it have been Tanzanite?
Are you sure it began with a 't' and wasn't 'Pyrite'?

Hi thanks for your suggestions but nothing rings a bell. The necklace is closest to marcasite, but less showy so no colour and no stones. It definitely has a vintage look. I'll keep searching online.
I am puzzled now, you say it looks like marcasite but there are no stones ?, do you mean that is just metal of some sort
I have just had another thought could it have been the maker's name like TRIFARI
