if i send a US postal service money order to the UK, will it be easy for the payee to cash it? before anyone suggests, bank transfer is not an option, and i can't use paypal, it is not ebay related or any other auction. any personal experiences? you knowledge is much appreciated.

Western Union is your best bet. You could get a money order in foreign currency and Fedex it but it is expensive.
My bank (one of the UK's "Big Five") wanted to charge an extortionate fee to credit a share dividend denoted in US dollars into my account.
On another occasion involving sending money from Canada, the best way turned out to be for the Canadian person to buy a British banknote at their bank and send that.
