We have water going down the back of the sink and it's running down the wall behind into the cupboard below .This is very complicated :)
The sink is only a gap of about an inch and half from the tiled splashback and has been set into a beechwood worktop .Over time this has started to go all grotty ,the grout is all nasty and any water that gets spashed around is running down the back of it and under the lip of the sink into the cupboard .
This usually only happens when Mr S is doing any washing up .I've tested it with a glass of water :)
My son is going to fit a new sink and worktop for us ....but ..
he's full of good intentions but we may have to wait a while ....
In the meantime is there some sort of waterproof tape that I can buy to shore up this gap pro tem.

It is some sort of WW1 memorial installation, 49 spotlights going straight up; they come on at dusk and go off at dawn, until Monday I think. You can see them from our garden miles away and they look like a single column but when you visit them they have electronic music humming - it's supposed to be responding to crowd movement (and there were hundreds of people there and more pouring in as we left) but it just sounded like regular humming to me, very hypnotic.

Morning all
It's a bit grim out there .
I saw that on teevee Jno when they showed the centenary commemoration service .Spectacular .
Hope you're all ok .

Good morning folks. Yes I also saw that beam of light on ther news when the lights were dimmed. Very effective.

Poor woofy, I used to get bitten to bits but now have a "plug-in" which works miracles, I have one in every room, also they can't cope in an air conditioned room so it's fine.

Just woken up (late for me) had a disturbing dream, so now feel all weird.

Mr N is still out of sorts and I am climbinbg the walls!!!
Good rainy morning all. That's fantastic Jno. I think I'd like to have seen it for real. Quite an emotional time for lots of people. I can't remember if I told you but Steady's great grandma saw her dad leave for the army when she was 6 years. Very young but just old enough to remember.
My dad was in the army during the 2nd WW but I was lucky to have had him until he was 92. We would have been 100 in October this year.
Have to take my car to my car man today to be MOTed and Serviced today. I'll be walking back so hopefully the rain will have stopped then.
My neighbour (the nice one with lovely grandchildren) says she was awoken this morning about 3 by a drunken man who thought he was at his home after a night out but he lives in Alfreton which is quite a few miles away. The police arrested him. She was ok and her son never heard anything. Neither did I!!
Off now to pack a few thinks for tomorrow's trip to see Steadier.
Have a good day.
I'm sure you'll work out the correct words. Just a test for you!!
Hi, Mr N actually feels a tad better today so we nipped to the beach, had a lovely swim in the sea, lovely and cool, then we ate at Burger King (my choice) I quite like it, I had a rib in a bun, was nice for a change, we then came home and swam in pool and showered , washed all beach stuff and am now in bed watching Judge Judy!
Hello all, bust night here die to the weather but not as bad as it could have been and it seems to be gone now. I have picked up yet another different stomach bug which is all getting a bit boring. My stomach is crampy and like a balloon and I have got a headache as well.
Jude you are having a busy day, I hope you don't get soaked
Neti, I have gt those things indoors, I was bitten in the garden.
Shaney I hope its less grim with you now
Where is Robi? I hope you are okay?
Jno, that's impressive. I would like to go and see it. Does anyone else remember the year when the Oxford street christmas lights were lasers?
I'd also like to go and see the ceramic poppy installation, I did buy one of the poppies though.
hope the MOT was okay, Jude, and they didn't want to work on your big end.

Another supermoon tonight, closest for 20 years, but at 6.10pm when it's (a) day and (b) cloudy.
Very impressive jno.

A'noon all, big bertha's blowing a hooley out there, sunny now but it's been atrocious. It doesn't look like calming down much tonight and I'm hoping my robinia's up to it, the man over the end has just had a new roof on his bungalow :o/
My sis was keen to see Tarquin's new place so I swallowed a selection of medications from cupboard and off we went. The roads were awash in places, just awful. Baby moondust sends a wave and says in 10 days time he'll know whether he's getting a blue or a pink partner in crime :)

Waves back to Moondust .
It wasn't too bad here in the end ,the rain eased off and it got out quite bright this afternoon but it's still blowing a gale .I think Bertha is now wending her way north of the border .Awful in some places though ,looking at the news .
Hope you've all had a peaceful day in spite of the weather .
Sleep toight .
Bertha is still blowing here but it is nice and sunny for my trip to the dentist. I think he's just going to check that the bone graft is taking, not do any drilling
hello, where's my avatar gone? It's there on my profiles but not on my posts. Or maybe it's just my computer.
Morning all...oooh jno, Bertha's blown your wig off, I'll see if it's in my tree.
Still blowy here, chilly and sunny, I had my duvet back on last night, but all seems intact.
oh, I'm back again; I think Gravatar was just checking my perm.

Much cooler but sunny ,still blowing a gale though.
Good luck at dentist Jno .I must shift myself and hobble to the hairdressers .
Over and out for now .
Glad you got your wig back in time for the dentist Jno. We still have weather here and the forecast is not looking good. its grey and humid here, very like Singapore in the monsoon.
mega gridlock on the way to the dentist, not mentioned on road reports so I drove right into it. 80 minutes getting there, 5 minutes for the checkup, 60 minutes coming back again.
weather has been alternately hissing down - during walk from car to dentist and then walking back again - but otherwise warm and sunny and windy.
