Damn savage........etc

I refuse to believe that anyone who has served in the armed forces does not know the protocol for wearing medals, as he claims

I just read on FB that the medal belonged to his brother and it was his own fault that he displayed it on the wrong side of his jacket.

Was he wearing his brother's medals on Remembrance Day. ? I see no link.

As far as I recall the medals of deceased relatives may be worn on the RHS .Your own are worn on the left. On special occasions.Looks like he grouped them all together with the South Atlantic Star on the wrong side. Question is. Was it a deliberate deception or ignorance of the protocol for wearing medals. No doubt the enquiry will pursue this matter and deliberate accordingly

It was deliberate, he would know.

His police profile stated that he served 10 years in the Royal Navy, including the Falklands war.

What else might he have been embellishing?
he rose to a high rank .

^ Apologies, wrong thread.

You are not supposed to wear medals awarded to a living relative.

I have worn my father's and grandfather's medals (on the correct side) at Remembrance Sunday services

poor guy

is that professional misconduct?

One Viet vet who was wearing a ribbon he shouldna

committed suicide ! Oh and there are old SEALS who go around masking billy bunter fantasists, pretending....

You don't know maaan, you weren't there.

Etc.

This should be easy to solve. Either it's his medal (and therefore he's enritled to wear it) or it isn't.

I'll leave to someone more interested to find out.

It might be his medal inasmuch as his brother gave it to him but he was not awarded it, has no right to wear it as if he was and should never have allowed the lie that he served in the Falklands to be on his police profile.

He did wrong!  He admits it.

But he is  seemingly an excellent officer and is respected by his officers.  That is important.

He hasn't admitted it.  He claims he didn't know the protocol for wearing medals and I can't believe that.

It doesn't explain the lie on his police profile.

He hasn't admitted it, he has told more lies to excuse it
