I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

Are you sure you don't mean farty acts shaney? :)

I've had a voucher, through the post no less, for 15% off at M&S online!
I might force myself....
here you go. I shouldn't really respond to idiots but lack of sleep makes me tetchy.

I did a big order on cotton traders this morning and an hour later I got an email for 20% off. Anyway i phoned them up and they said they couldn't refund me money but would I accept a 25 quid gift voucher? That's about 23% off and I hadn't got everything i wanted (out of stock) so whooopeee.
oh well done woofy...
well, I have sat by the phone most of the day, in vain. I did get a change of flight sorted out. No joy with the magazine who've been messing me around, and nothing from the publisher that was supposed to be sending me a book to roof pead. But I did get a call from a man who wants me to invest in carbon credits.

Yet another burger-all kind of day then.
Haven't read through but just called in to say oight, oight.

Had a busy day and am off to bed suffering from exhaustion!! ;o)

Ooh you got a good deal there Woofy .I've had that happen .You buy something and shortly afterwards they reduce it .I've never thought to query that sort of thing .
Nobody has phoned me either Jno so I think I'll go to bed :)
Oight Oight folks .
good morning all. Isn't normal lovely? We ate hot cooked food last night, went to bed at a reasonable hour and went out for a walk this morning. Bit of a zizz then got a man coming to do my gutters.
Good morning all, sunny day here.

My sister had a carpet fitted and the next day she saw it had been reduced, so she went in a made a fuss and got the discount back, I wouldn't dare!
why not? The person you are talking to would probably want the same thing so they will be on your side. The neat thing with cotton traders of course, is that If they did nothing, I could have returned the whole lot and re ordered and they know this. I have actually done that with an M and S online order and so has my sister. On the reason for return we put that we had had a money off code shortly after ordering and so had re ordered using the code.
Morning all...brightish and windy here.

Yes, we all should query price changes but I suppose the majority of people don't or don't even notice. I've waited for sales and missed out...sometimes you can't win.

I can't seem to win with my body, my tum's playing up a bit again. Nothing drastic, it's just not normal for me. Feeling permanently frozen to the bone probably isn't doing me any good. Luckily I'm warm in bed, maybe I'll just stay there.

Tarquin had a look at my puta yesterday and rang BT. I like him to do it, when they ask me techie type questions I go into blonde mode. I've got a problem on my tinter line apparently, that's why it's been mind numbingly slow...hopefully it's being fixed as we speak and I'll be head to toe in quick draw badges.
Please can someone, anyone tell me how cold it is in England? Do i need a thigh length jacket or a bomber hip length one? Boots, jeans? I have no idea! ty
Bloody cold. Thigh length jacket definitely!!

I went out in padded knee length coat, woollen tunic dress, woolly scarf and boots yesterday. Snow in Devon!!!!

Good morning by the way. Nobody has sent me any vouchers!!!! hmmph.

I have bought myself some knitting wood and a pattern and am ready to go!!!

Bet you are glad Woofy that there is some normality now. I saw the thread and am with you all the way - stupid person!! x

Take care Robi. I am having a quiet day today. Yesterday was tiring. Still not dressed!! Dressing actually hurts me these days. Never mind.
Thinks. We will probably have a heatwave now and Neti will curse me!!
What dates will be here from and to neti? For you, coming from warmer temps, it'll feel freezing...it's not frosty but people here are complaining about the cold. Also wet, wet, wet for the forseeable. I'd go for longer jackets, waterproofs and boots.
here in Hampshire its very variable...mild and wet one moment and frosty the next.
Lottie sorry to hear you are aching again and thank you for the support. There is just no telling some folk. I accept that other people are entitled to be their views and to have fireworks but to suggest that the pets' fears are the owners fault is just stupid.
...anyway back to the real world. My gutter man was very helpful and is coming back to sort out a bit where the gutterguard has collapsed. My sky box is also playing silly b's so I have to gird my loins and call sky later.
oops I was checking weather reports and you weren't there Lottie.
It feels bleak dosn't it? I feel lousy and I've only done a bit of cupboard sorting this morning.

Love the knitting, hope you don't get splinters from the 'wood' :)
ha ha knitting wood.....HUGE needles!
Thanks all, am looking forward to the cold, but bet I hate when there!

Knitting? wish I could again but am all fumbly now, sausage fingers!

Ooh that's a big project Lofty .Love the wool though .I gather it knits up into the stripes ? I don't think I could manage a big thing like that now with my fumbly fingers .I'm doing wristwarmers atm and they are taking forever .
Not bad here ,was sunnyish but dulled up now .

Yes you'll need some warm clothes Neti .It's not exactly warm here.

Hope all Biddies are well and any aches and pains soon ease off .
I ache too but sod it .I'm going to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel this evening at Village Screen at the library .It's only 3 quid for old codgers :)
