I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

cloudy grey here, we had a good walk this morning and are being lazy.
I am sooooo not going to be waxed.
Nor am I, ever again.

Getting excited about ging to England, getting warm clothes ready, chilly here today too.
omg, there's a man with a chainsaw up the leylandii next door! At last! I hope the whole thing's coming down and he's not just pruning it.

Him next door didn't like the tree but thought getting rid of it was expensive. Her next door thought it should be done at any cost. I guess that argument has been settled.

Me on this side of the fence is hoping to see daylight again.

I could send him over next time you're tempted to go waxing, neti, he seems to do a good quick job.
oh my word... the sky is just so dazzling...

This must be what living in Norfolk is like
Morning hairy Marys...dull, windy and chilly. Shame it's so cloudy the Airbus is around this area today. I've seen it before though, very impressive....so long as it stays up there.

It must be a day for it jno, I've had my cherry tree pruned & the dead removed from the Robinia. Shame the newly exposed sky is grey. Did a bit of tidying and I'll be good for nowt the rest of the day (they blew all the leaves into one pile, I'd like one of those blowers but it's not worth the expense for a couple of weeks a yr). And he kindly charged me about 20% less than the quote so that'll pay for my hair to be done...hair on my head that is :)

Looks like BT have tweaked me, I'm speeding along nicely up to now.
45 prs white panties, 8 pr white sox and 8 white bras been boil washed cos they always show me up in Eastbourne, but still they do not all looked bright white!! Just no room to hang them and peg pride has gone out of the window, ran out of black ones, so had to open my new white ones so blk/wht pegs! Have had them all under the patio cos it looks like rain, so have an extenable (sp) one that pulls ot of the wall, so have added other lines inbetween! Tomorrow will be in tumble drier!
extendable !!
so you won't be put to shame when run over by a double-decker bus whether you're wearing knickers or not. You are a fine example of continental chic.
45 pairs! Are you coming for 10 months?
We have water and daz over here you know.
Oh I won't be bringing all of them, in fact very few as I shall buy more when there. Just thought I would wash anything white at the time. Yes methinks I need to get Daz for bright whites!
<wanders around house with sunglasses on>

Apparently the council tree cutters started knocking on doors touting for work when they'd finished the trees in the street, so him next door grabbed them. Hallelujah!
Great stuff jno...we'll all have our rickets cured.
whispers ... I told my man to put his name & number through the nextdoor's, see if they get the hint & have the hedge done.
I'm back from a nice lunch and gossip and a look round the craft shops etc at Creake Abbey. Have bought DIL a very nice Birthday present. Weather has been lovely today and not too cold, although it was getting cloudy and windy just before it got dark.

Am now KNITTING!! Have finished the ribbing without too much trauma.
Neti

You simply can't wax hair that doesn't exist any more. There are a few stragglers on the fronts of my legs, but you need a magnifying glass to find them. Funnily enough the hair on my head has got thicker with age!!! Oh well................
And even if I was hairy then I would be too frightened to go anywhere near any wax!!! Likewise with ear piercing the very though makes my ears go weak!!
Ha, ha, I mean 'knees' :o(
I've had a reminder from my dentist that I'm getting another implant on Monday.... sigh. It also says the clinic is now on Facebook, which I suppose is a sensible place for a dentist to be; no point in being on Elbowbook.
I took my first christmas parcel to the pot office today, Middle Sis is going out Dubai end of November and she will take the gifts out for my niece and her family. The post office is in the newsagents. I dealt with my parcel and had a chat with the man, then went off to ask for parcel tape at the shop counter.
Nice lady who I know well wandered off to get the tape and stops for a word with post office man. She comes back and beckons to me as though she is going to whisper....then grabs the cardboard label still hanging from the neck of my new sweatshirt and snips if off for me!! Apparently nice post office man had noticed it but didn't like to say anything. Then I get home and find I had left th lovingly handcrafted (by me) card out of the parcel.
Texted Sis to tell her the parcel was on its way and told he my sad story...she suggests having my name and address sewn into my knickers, I am inclined to agree.
posted this in technology but in case you dont go there
Convincing Paypal Email

I have just had a very convincing phishing email purporting to come from Paypal. Only my surname was missing. I logged into my account NOT through the email and found that my account had not been limited. Thought it would be good to warn others, I get loads of phishing emails, this was by far the most convincing.
thanks for that, woofgang. I suppose such emails go out to non-Paypal people too. I do have an account but seldom use it, so I tend to ignore most emails purporting to be from them anyway.
