Is anyone else fed-up with those pesky bobbing about sphericals on AnswerBank.

There should be a warning about it just as there is about 'flash' images on TV.

Thanks for that Dave, but my version of firefox doesn't support that add-on.
why not update your version of firefox?? I use v8
Question Author
I am using 4.0.1, I am afraid that if I upgrade I will lose some of the present set-up.

Can one have two versions of FireFox on one's computer?
Hi AOG,

I'm removing that advertiser from our list.

Ed.
Question Author
Thank you Ed.

Incidentally any answers on the 'Back Arrow' problem yet?
Im using v8, ive blocked them
good question... I used to have two versions of Photoshop on my computer, with two separate icons on the desktop. I suppose it ought to be possible to have two Firefoxes, but it might be that the latest would insist on removing the older one. I'll have to leave that for the experts to answer.
You cannot have two versions of FF on your PC at once I am afraid.

What is it you're worried about losing? It should carry across the bookmarks you have stored etc?
there you are, an instant expert answer.

FF does not seem to change much between editions, so it might be worth updating.
"You cannot have two versions of FF on your PC at once I am afraid."

Yes you can...

Or use firefox portable for one of them (probably easier)

now you've got two expert answers. I could have given you either of them myself, but not both.

Thanks all for your answers, I will give it a try when I feel a little braver.

In the meantime Ed what about these 'pesky bobbing about sphericals' they are still up there annoying me.
I suspect there are two choices (unless you block the adverts)

Put up with the adverts.

Lose the site due to lack of income.
They don't bother me...........they wake me up sometimes.
Never bothered me AOG.

When they shout it startles me..............
Question Author
Yes but didn't the Ed previously say "I'm removing that advertiser from our list".

But then he didn't say 'when', I suppose.

Nothing wrong with static adverts, but it's those 'moving about' ones that are the irritants.
