Does anyone know a recipe how to make your own horseradish sauce? I can remember helping my Mother to grate the horseradish root then I think she used evaporated milk but how would she have got it to it thicken? I remember how delicious the sauce tasted, and how hot it was , it really could bring tears to you eyes when eating....

I like pasta's recipe for presentation, but if you want a simple, workman's recipe for roast beef, try this:

1 cup cubed and peeled horseradish root, 1/2-inch pieces
3/4 cup vinegar
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender; process until pured. Carefully remove cover of processor or blender, keeping face away from container. Cover and store in the refrigerator until needed. Caution; the longer it's stored the hotter it gets...

Thank you both, never thought to look a recipe up on the internet !!!! Most recipes use double cream, that is where Mum's evaporated milk came in,we probably could not afford the cream... looking forward to my beef lunch tomorrow.
