if u freeze chicken for about 2 weeks and then take it out the freezer and defrost thouroughly is it sill safe to cook and eat it ?

Yes. Do not re-freeze though.
You can re-freeze after cooking it though.

why is that please, cany you defrost and the refreeze?
Yes, 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years, if it was in good condition when you froze it.

Prolonged freezing completely ceases bacterial growth, although the texture might not be as good.
Because harmful bacteria may have got onto it during the defrosting process.

Cooking it kills any such bacteria off, so it is safe to freeze it once cooked. Before you eat such refrozen cooked chicken you should heat it up to a temperature that will kill off any bacteria that that may have arrived after it was cooked.
