hi i often make my own soup which will just be potatoes, carrotts leek onion sweed parsnip and a bit of chicken, just boiled in water then i add stock.

my question is will this meal be ok to basically live on for 2 weeks. i want to try and clear my body of all the rubbish and stop eating meals that bloat me.

will it do any harm just eating this flushed down with plenty of water

Well, people do the cabbage soup diet for that long and yours sounds a lot nicer than that. You're gonna need some serious willpower though aren't you? I couldn't do it. I have zero willpower when it comes to food! Suppose you could alter the veg from day to day for a bit of variety?
Good luck

thanks i have no will power either which is why i have chose something i enjoy. i often make a big pot and eat it throughout the week anyway. i feel that if i want to try and eat better i shud eat the things i enjoy otherwise i will just get bored
Maybe make some different soups so it's a bit different , watercress soup is lovely, or add things which are low residue which are easily digested and pass through your system easily.

I posted some info about it on a thread in Health & Fitness the other day if you need some ideas.

Make sure you are getting everything your body needs, maybe a good multivitamin and something like EPA (essential fatty acids).
I'd add some fruit such as clementines or oranges to make sure you're getting the Vit. C you need or you'll end up getting a chill. Eat them well outside of meal times to prevent bloating (if mixed with other food they ferment in the stomach). Onion can cause bloating so if you find you're bloated an hour after your soup cut the onion out next time. HTH
About five years ago I went on a fruit diet for 7 days. Ate nothing but fruit and drank nothing but cold water ( I have strong will power) I lost 11 1/2 pounds in the 7 days. The last day I spend working VERY hard in the hot sun.... Went home in a very hot car and collapsed. Ever since I've been on rat poison (warfarin) for an erratic heart beat... Mind you, the diet didn't cause it...it was exhaustion !!!.
this diet will be enough to EXIST on but i wouldn't call it living.

dieticians would recommend a nutitionally complete diet as good, and so would i. your soup lacks adequate amounts of many trace elements considered essential for good health, especially potassium, calcium, many of the vitamins, has limited amounts of proteins or essential fats.

if you want to take a nutritionally complete soup buy fortijiuce.
i find potatoes make me feel bloated. for some meals, try not to mix starch with protein (potato and meat), i felt much less bloated. dont do it all the time though, because you need to combine these foods at least some of the time to metabolise the goodness in them.... (sorry, the science bit is a bit rusty).
