It's something I tried at a friends house and it's actually called Yorkshire Relish but it is similar in look and texture to a brown fruity sauce.
I live in Yorkshire and have never seen Yorkshire relish. Im going to have to look for it now out of curiosity
Yorkshire relish is made by Hendersons, Asda and Morrisons sell it.
arr., relish, well thats a completely different kettle of parsnips. Apparently you can get it at Asda

Not any Asdas around here or at the Asda in Morley, near Leeds- I've tried it!

Fantastic! Thanks Mccfluff :-)
Hendersons Relish, boy that takes me back! It's a bit of a South Yorkshire/Sheffield speciality rather than a "Yorkshire" one. My Nan and Grandad in Sheffield always had it on meat & potato pie - they used to get it from the local shop on "draught", take in an empty bottle and have it filled from a huge barrel of the stuff. I've not found it anywhere here in Leeds though - maybe it doesn't "travel" (like Tetleys) ??
Yorkshire Crisps have started making a Yorkshire Sause flavoured crisp. you can get them in some Morrisons, Coops and delis. they're really good.
