I am looking for ideas for a leg of lamb as I have three in the freezer to use up.

I don't want to do a Sunday roast but would be interested in other ideas.

Thanks.

Some sort of pulled pork-but-lamb-actually dish, perhaps?

I'm all of a sudden hungry :)

Well I do have two pork crackling joints so prep and serving suggestions for either would be happily received.

:-)
Give one to me and I'll mull over it ... :P
How about a Moroccan fruity lamb tagine?
Question Author
I do love Tagine, DT.

Jim - are you still out in Croatia? Shall I send it by Special Delivery? ;)
Yes, I am... Don't tease me this way :P

Better to send it to my parents if you were offering seriously. And, if not, all I can say is that I'm super-envious of you having so many legs of lamb etc just waiting to be used :)
It would be a wicked waste to use a leg for pulled lamb, that’s what the shoulder is for.
our chinese does crispy lamb (a la crispy duck) -would that be leg meat? or roast it then cut it up and make a curry :)
I know you say you don't want roast but this is good. Make slits all over the lamb and stick garlic clove in them. Put in low oven. Mix mint jelly and cranberry sauce and a little olive oil and baste lamb frequently with mixture. Delicious hot or cold. Cold as sandwiches or with potato and onion salad and tomatoes sprinkled with salt and oregano and drizzled with olive oil
You could cover it in harissa spices and have it with flatbreads, houmos, salad, rice etc

We only ever buy big joints when they're half prices, Jim.

237 - that was my initial thinking. I love flatbreads, hummus, etc. Cous cous would work nice with it too.

Although I do love a lamb and paneer / spinach curry...
Tzatziki would be nice with it too
There are some fantastic lamb recipes here. I love the one for rolled breast ...loads of garlic and anchovies.

Not 'arf. I would probably have to do some courgette tempura in that case.
anyone you want to get rid of before you start?

What about a "pulled lamb" shepherd's pie with a minted gravy?

Would that work?
After this post I also wanted to cook leg of lamb :)
Question Author
For anyone interested we decided to go with this:

https://www.cookwithnabeela.com/recipe/tandoori-leg-of-lamb/

(Scroll down for video).

It's marinating nicely in the fridge now. It will be slow-cooked all day tomorrow. I have made another bath of keema aloo brinjal curry and will knock up a tomato and lentil dhal tomorrow. It will be served with chapatis, mint yoghurt and chutneys, and of course Strictly. Wine may accompany :-)

There will be plenty left for the following day and some to freeze down too.

We still have two legs of lamb left after this so will mull over suggestions again and any more appear. Thanks again.
