I like a little pearl barley.
Smoked paprika?
Swede, parsnips, barley, lentils, peas
Worcestershire sauce or even tomato sauce/purée

I was thinking more to enhance the flavour. A jar of curry sauce?
Suprisingly Tomato puree really livens up stewsand casseroles. And I use Worcester sauce. In fact none of my stews, soups or curries ever turn out the same. I'm an experimenter! I would be adding spinach and peas too and garlic.
I also like a little cabbage.
i always shove steak seasoning onto my veg stews
Vegetarian stew? There's no such thing.
I always have a bottle of Levi Roots reggae reggae sauce in the cupboard too, when I think 'hmm that needs a little something' I add a few splashes of that
Meat.
maggi liquid seasoning
Miso paste...salty but that disappears.
A Knorr stock pot and a glut of tomato purée. Soy sauce and mixed herbs.
With those ingredients, it would be canned tomatoes, tomato puree and umami paste.
